Life as a singer, actor, teacher, adjudicator and ski instructor is what keeps Bryan (Bee) challenged, solvent, and amused. He has performed in the West End and in Opera Houses around the UK and abroad, and made many appearances on tv, radio, and recordings. He is a tenor amongst tenors, having sung with Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli, Roberto Alagna and Josh Groban, to namedrop a few.
Bee trained at the Royal College of Music, London, and the Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff. Recent performances include a Valentine’s Day ‘Evening of Song’ at the Arts’ Club, Dublin, with Nicola Gainey, and future performances will see the first appearances of ‘Witches and Bitches, Bags and Hags – sopranos in Opera and Music Theatre’, and ‘Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya’. Adjudication has taken him to Hong Kong, Trinidad and Tobago, Gibraltar, and all over the UK and Ireland. Examining has taken him to India, South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong and New Zealand, also all over the UK and Ireland.
After some years spent performing abroad Bee moved to Guildford, near London, where he held for some years the posts of Head of Singing at Guildford School of Acting, and Lay-Clerk at Guildford Cathedral. He now works as a freelance performer, tutor, examiner and adjudicator, and, having lived in County Cork for some years, moved to Worcester, near Wales, where he runs courses, teaches, and performs in a variety of styles and venues. Bee has worked with WestSide for some years now, appreciating the level of talent, focus and preparation students bring. A fabulous school, and a happy, productive atmosphere.
